Planning a Colorado Bachelorette? Why You Should Book a Curated Pilates Experience
As a mat Pilates teacher, the best and most ME thing I did at my bachelorette was teach a private mat Pilates class for my girls. I went all out. I invested in matching Vuori sets, chose the vibiest Airbnb with a lush outdoor space, rented high-quality Stakt mats, and of course curated a playlist I knew everyone would connect with.
The idea was first inspired by @corporatenatalie on Instagram. Natalie is a comedic genius, with some of the most relatable content out there for all of us still stuck on the corporate hamster wheel. She got matching pink Beyond Yoga sets for her bachelorette crew to take a class in the comfort of their Airbnb. My first thought was CUTE. My second was I can do that too. And so I did.
Why I curated my own Pilates experience at my bachelorette
Why did I put so much effort (and honestly money) into a personalized fitness experience at MY party, when my maid of honor could have easily booked a class in town for all of us?
- I wanted my best friends to undergo the spiritual journey I do whenever I teach and I knew that no one else could provide that.
- I wanted to share this profound part of myself in the presence of my first love, Mama Earth.
- I wanted my friends to fall in love with mat Pilates, and when you look the part, you WANT to indulge in the activity. My friends at Halfdays proved that when some of their customers caught the ski bug after rocking one of their cute suits.
The bonus was that I got some sick content that helped lay the groundwork for our Pilates business: At Our Core. Today, we bring curated Pilates experiences to bachelorettes, birthday parties, and group getaways all over Colorado (from Denver metro to the mountains).
How to pick between a customized Pilates class at your house and a standard class at a local studio
If movement is as big a part of your life as it is in mine, here's how I think about adding a class to your itinerary:
Customized Pilates Experience

- ✓Class is tailored to your group's experience and fitness level (including the muscle groups you WANT to work)
- ✓Music matches your vibe
- ✓All props and equipment are provided, plus outfits if you want them
- ✓You don't need to leave your house rental
- ✓You get content to memorialize the experience
Cons
- –Higher investment
- –You need enough space in your house rental to host the class
Local Pilates Class
Pros
- ✓You're not limited by the size of your house rental
- ✓It requires far less planning and coordination
- ✓You get to experience a local studio's vibe
Cons
- –Your whole party may not fit in class
- –You may not be next to your friends in class
- –Class may be too hard or too easy for your crew
- –The music may not be your vibe
- –Mat and equipment rentals may be unavailable or of questionable quality
- –You (likely) can't get any content from class
